Re: [edlug] Re: Linux AV / Windows update
It's MPlayer and apt for SuSE. I try installing the RPM and it comes up
with a list of dependencies that are not being met. So | have to
download the RPMs for the missing libraries, but they fail as well,
needing further base libraries. It took me all day yesterday to come to
the conclusion that the site didn't even have some of the files I need.
The site I am downloading this from is
ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/linux/suse/apt/SuSE/9.0-i386/

Another thing that annoys me about Linux installs using yAst in SuSE 9.0
is that the RPMs don't contain all the files to run the program. yAst
will tell you which libraries it needs, but they are not in the RPM.
Is it video/audio stuff you've had problems with or others too? Must say I've
not suffered this kind of problem. In my experiece even proprietary packages
like nVidia drivers & MS TT fonts (which aren't on the cd) get downloaded
after the requisite "I Agree" has been clicked.
