[edlug] Evolution 1.4.6 import contacts

I've just installed Fedora Core 2 and cannot get Evolution to import my
contacts from my old (Evolution 1.2) contacts list. 

Prior to installing I made a copy of my home folder on CD. The email
folders have imported ok but import will not take the address data from
contacts. I tried copying the "Contacts" folder from the old evolution
folder to the new and re-starting but to no avail.

I must be missing a step somewhere.
