60 days?

This seems like the easiest option, assuming you're happy with your ISP
(and don't want a static IP address anyway).

This is the best option, especially if you're using ADSL. Can I
recommend Zen? They will give you a /29 and fix your reverse DNS if you
ask them.

You need to find someone to host your forward DNS, for which I recommend
zoneedit.com (their website can be a bit slow though).

This is probably the worst option, as it restricts you to web-forwarding
(things like email get a bit clunky).

I went with option (c), using Zen and ZoneEdit, and it works
wonderfully. I host my own email, webserver and Jabber server (anyone
else use Jabber?) along with the obligatory SSH and very useful IMAP and
NNTP.

IMO, a static IP is one of the best things one can get from one's ISP --
it makes life as a net-connected geek a lot more fun :-). If you can
get rDNS sorted out then you can pretty much do anything (without it set
at all, some people won't talk to you. If you've got your ISP's rDNS
then for some things you have to use that name (e.g. some email servers
will score down mail when the rDNS doesn't match the connect string and
some Jabber servers won't talk if your rDNS domain doesn't match the
domain you're talking as)).

OK,
