Re: [edlug] dynamic dns, domain names, and other shenanigans
If your current Domain Name registrar allows you to change the
DNS nameservers for your domain name (mine does it for free but some
charge),
all you then have to do is sign up to DynDNS Cutom DNS service, change
your domain name's
nameservers to be the Cutome DNS name servers and hey presto it's
done.

I have a dynamic dns account - and I have just registered a domain name
(.co.uk).
I wish to marry them (or find a better way) - but what is the best
approach? The options seem to be ...
a: wait until the minimum 60 days expire, and move over to the custom
DNS service provided by the dynamic dns service provider (currently
dyndns.org) for $24 per annum, which would maintain the dns entry and
allow my ip to roam.
b: move my ISP to one that offers a static, and then register that -
(but with whom and how?)
c: just use the free forwarding supplied with the domain name
registrar.. but a bit crude.
a bit of a grey area for me.. has anyone found anything more elegant,
robust, or effective?
