[edlug] anyone for bio-informatics?
Dear All,
As a graduate student in population genetics with a
side interest in sequence evolution, I'm interested in
exploring the potential of bioinformatics toolkits
such as bioperl and biopython (the former of which I
hope to spend some time with).
This is a first informal inquiry of what I hope will
develop into a day of bio-informatics talks here in
Edinburgh, likely at the King's Buildings Campus.
I have some basic expertise in mining the freely
available sequence databases of the web, and have
written my own custom scripts for conversion to other
formats, but would hope to become more efficient by
using existing tools from now on.
Anybody interested feel free to send a brief message
off-list or discuss on-list. Would be good especially
to hear from anyone interested in giving a talk.
Best wishes,
Philipp Wesche
