[edlug] DVD Help for Pioneer DVD 107D

Hi

I have been following the current DVD thread going on on the list, so I am hoping there is someone with the info I am after.

I got a "Pioneer DVD 107D" from Silicon yesterday and have been onto the Pioneer web stite, but have yet to findout an anwser.

So here goes :-

Region Code for the unit, there seems to be a *requirment* to set the region code for the unit when you first use the drive (The Pioneer allows 5 changes in total). On my nephew's laptop, the 1st time use, opened a dialog box under WinXP.

   The Pioneer web site has DOS utilities for updating firmware & I have my original DOS6.22 disks so thats way not a major problem, but would my SuSE setup do a similar to WinXP automatically ?
