[edlug] Innovation, an interesting paper on

A couple of months ago, there was a thread here on innovation
in computing. 

I came across an interesting paper on this at:

David Wheeler seem to be a bean-counter extraordinaire.
Many of his other papers (sloc analysis of various unices, tco, 
market share, ...) are worth a look.
