Subject: Re: [edlug] The Grub ate my Boot

I've had serious problems in the past with dual booting windows2k with
other OS's. My usual trick is to install windows on its own HD, swap the
boot sequence of the HDs, then install linux on another being very
careful to install grub to the linux MBR and use grub's map function to
fool windows into thinking that it's HD is the master. AFAIK the best
way with one HD is to use the windows boot loader to point to grub
located in a linux partition.

etc.

I personnally always boot linux off a disk and never install the Linux mbr.
A bit of a hassle but one does not after struggle with windows unsocial
tactics.
