Have you only overwritten the MBR?  You can sort that out by entering  
the Recovery Console from your (assuming XP here) CD and running both  
the 'fixboot' and 'fixmbr' commands.  I managed to get myself in the  
same situation dozens of times when first experimenting with dual  
booting.
