Was that a typo?  I'd have thought £15/month was a more realistic figure 
for a bog-standard unmanaged VPS.

As you say, the upside/downside is that you have full superuser access 
(and everything that entails in terms of setup and responsibility for 
maintaining the hosting platform in a functional, secure, state).
