[edlug] partition preservation redhat 9 using kickstart

Hello,

I'm at a loss as to how to preserve a specific data partition when
rebuilding a box from a kickstart script.

I've seen various kludges on the kickstart mailing list at redhat, none of 
which seem to do this apparently simple task.

My latest idea is to format of all partitions (except the one to be
preserved) in a pre section of my kickstart script. To date I haven't
achieved this successfully (ie the script keeps dropping out saying no 
room for os)

I'd be grateful for any elegant solutions to this.
