Re: [edlug] missing icons, dodgy mouse after update
I'm afraid I don't have 8.0 (but rawhide), nor
a PS2 mouse (but a USB mouse), but I have had
the problems you describe.
I believe the command to configure mice is
redhat-config-mouse. (Issue from a console.)
AFAICR, this sorted out my mouse weirdness.
I don't think that gpm is running in initlevel 5.
You could try issuing "gpm -k" as root to kill it
if its running.
About your mouse, what does /etc/X11/XF86Config
(or /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 if that's what 8.0 has)
say about it? grep -5 mouse /etc/X11/XF86Config.
Also, what does grep -5 -i mouse/var/log/XFree86.0.log
say?
Hank
