IMHO Edinburgh doesn't have any serious technical or academic book shops (but then I'm used to Cambridge and London). You'll probably have more luck with access than mysql.

Borders in Kinnaird Park or (esp) Glasgow are about the most comprehensive.

Ottokars has a limited selection.

If you've seen one Waterstones in Edinburgh you've seen them all.

When I tracked down the computing section in Thin's my reaction was 'is that it?'.

If you know what you want, phone round, otherwise start with Borders (pref Glasgow).

Does anybody have any recommemdations for bookshops with a good slection of 
books on :-

MySQL (linux & windows) & Access 97 VBA


Looking to get the books this weekend rather than order then up as I will need 
them on Monday.
