[edlug] Linux Standard Base - LSB
Hi
While trawling through the next I can across the LSB website @
http://www.linuxbase.org/
Does anybody know functional the LSB is assuming a progression :-
basic command line tools - for repairing/access installation
general command line tools - for running shells, editing files etc
basic network command tools - accessing local network
general network command tools - WAN, PPP, WWW, NEWS POP
command line workstation
X workstation
desktop workstation KDE/Gnome etc
As a experienced windows user new to Linux the idea of having a fixed system
between distros seems like a good idea.
But I can't see what value added things having different distros would bring.
Is looks from outside, the final aim is a generic linux system based on all the
distros coming togther. Maybe even one super Linux distro.
Any views ?
