Re: [edlug] managing open source projects

Hi Magnus
I've no direct experience of managing projects, but I did find The Cathedral and The Bazaar had a fair amount about the way projects were organised in it.

Hope this helps and good luck with your project

Hi all,
I am one of the maintainers of an open source scientific software
package [1] and am looking into ways of governing the project. So far we
didn't have many (if any) rules and hoped that everything would sort
itself out. Unfortunately, it didn't happen that way and we ended up
essentially with a fork of the project. We are now looking into how to
join the two projects again with some form of governance. The project is
small (maybe about 10 active developers). I have no real idea where to
start so I figured I should ask for some advice:
* Has anyone any experience of this sort of thing?
* Does anyone know of some overview of different approaches to open
source project governance?
Cheers
