Re: [edlug] lilo on an external USB drive



Hi,

USB storage devices are being presented as SCSI devices I think (hence the
/dev/sda device name in my previous post).

(see output below)

The lack of other disks in the machine I'd have thought would mean that lilo
would be loading its bootloader from the same place when booting from the
device as when lilo is installed.

I also tried a knoppix hard-drive install on a partition on the external USB
drive, with the same result - just an 'L' on boot.

No floppies handy, so I can't try to boot off a floppy. I'll have to
investigate this later, I think.

I'm using bash here, so I've been lazy and used the tab key prompting to
list directories (and labelled it with [tab])
